CityNews – May 13th, Wichit Langsan, the chief of Chiang Dao District Office were informed by villagers that they found an object, which looked like a bomb in forest behind Thungkhaopuang Sub-district Municipality of Chiang Mai’s Chiang Dao district.
Local authorities, police, and military immediately rushed to inspect the scene, which is around 2 kilometres away from the Thungkhaopuang Sub-district Municipality.
The bomb, made in China, was still live when found and the officials put car tyres on it to minimise any potential explosion.
The bomb was diffused and removed. Officials believe the bomb was left by drug dealers or teenagers who may have been afraid of being prosecuted for weapon possession following the recent crackdown on weapons in accordance to National Council for Peace and Order.
