Bike Thieves Tracked and Arrested

CityNews – Two men was arrested near Sompet Market on May 25, after there were tracked by police following a tip-off that they were the men behind a bike theft earlier this week.

On May 22, police were informed of a motorbike theft outside a shop on Moonmuang road in the Sriphum area.

Following a tip off, police identified the thieves as 29-year old Phakphum Kaewma and 38-year-old Napat Rinnairak, and began tracking them.

After being told the two men often take drugs at a small park at the Sompet Market intersection, police conducted a stakeout which lead to a successful arrest.

Police examined the motorbike that they had driven to the park and discovered it was the stolen motorbike from earlier in the week.

The pair confessed to their crime, but also claimed another man, known only as Tad, was also involved in stealing the bike.

It was also discovered by police that the pair stole another motorbike outside the Sompet Market 7-11 on May 21.

Both suspects await prosecution.
