Army Draftee Robs Chinese Tourist After He is Mistaken as Hotel Staff

CityNews – A former army draftee was arrested for robbing a Chinese tourist after posing as one of the hotel staff.

Police have received a report of a robbing that occurred on the night of June 8th. The victim was a Chinese tourist who was shopping at the Night Bazaar. He hitched a ride with the suspect, mistaking him for a staff member from his hotel. The suspect instead took the victim to Huay Tung Tao and robbed her for one thousand baht cash and her smart phone before fleeing the scene.

The suspect has been identified as Wuttisak Puangjinda, 25, from Saraphi. After police caught up with the man, he confessed to the crime, explaining that the shirt he was wearing that day was the shirt he was given when he was drafted into the army. Police are currently dealing with the case.
