Adisorn Kamnerdsiri Wins the Senate Election in Chiang Mai

CityNews – Yesterday, March 30th, Thailand held the election for the Upper Senate positions across the country and Adisorn Kamnerdsiri won the seat with 178,175 votes.

Overall, the elections in Chiang Mai went smoothly – out of a total of 1.25 million eligible voters in Chiang Mai, 733,401 people went to the polls resulting in a voters’ turnout of 58.69%. The voters’ turnout this year was lower than expected; the Election Commission previously estimated a 70% turnout. Further results indicate the number of valid ballots to be 567,733 (77.41%), invalid ballots to be 52,126 (7.11%) and No Vote to be 113,542 (15.48%).

Adisorn was followed by Kritsanapong Pormbumram, a lawyer and red shirt leader, with 120,932 votes. Thavorn Keatchaiyakorn received 91,002 votes, Paetai Taecholarn 42,426 votes, Sompong Kaykam 34,628 votes and Sampan Chatmongkolpan 1,982 votes.
