300 Monks Receive Alms in Northern Full Moon Tradition

CityNews – November 25th, at around 12.30am, many residents and tourists offered alms to around 300 monks in the traditional Tak Bat Peng Pud or Tak Bat Thiang Kuen ceremony.

The 300 monks came from various temples in the city, outside Wat Upakut in Chang Klan sub-district.

The ceremony is a northern tradition, where monks are offered alms around midnight on a Wednesday with a full moon.

They believe that offering alms to monks on the night will bring success and fortune.
