2 Million Donated to Convention Centre After PM Plans Visit Next Week

CityNews – A two million baht donation has been made to further aid landscape management of the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre by the Pinkanakorn Development Agency (public organisation) in timing with a mobile cabinet meeting where the prime minister will attend next week.

The money, being used to clean up areas around the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre and improve the beauty of selected landscapes, will be presented at a mobile cabinet meeting will be held next week.

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha and other ministers, including Chiang Mai’s Governor, Suriya Prasartsit, will attend the mobile cabinet meeting on June 29 – 30.

Apart from landscape management, other projects will also be discussed at the meeting including future public transport plans including a mass transit system, dam building, bicycle lanes and other development work.

The finest northern Thai food and wood carvings will be presented to those who attend. There will be high levels of security, an only those with invites will be able to enter the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre on those days. Police will be manning checkpoints on all six gates into the centre.

A lanna performance will also be held in the Green Lake Resort to entertain guests over dinner, presented by Governor Suriya.
