CityNews – After being granted a search warrant, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) led by Captain Konlawit Boonnak and the Special Operations Division Region 5, raided the house of local psychic Patumporn Butsri in Mae Rim’s San Pong sub-district on the morning of May 12th.

Patumporn’s house was also raided by the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) last March, and she is believed to be in close connection with Supachai Srisupaaksorn, the former president of the Credit Union Klongjan Cooperative, who was accused of embezzlement.

On the raid of the 12th, officials found an estimated 10 tons of blue sky azurites in seven large shipping containers on the premises. Azurites are generally mined for copper extraction but also are used in the carving of amulets and other accessories. The stones varied in size from a half metre to one metre.

The caretaker of the house claimed that “believers” had offered the azurites to the psychic house in order to be carved into amulets.

Officials confiscated the stone to check their connection with Supachai’s network and to determine their origin. If illegal connections are discovered, the azurites will be seized.
