Chu Hotel

Within the multi-religious community of Wat Gate, near the Nawarat Bridge, sits this compact and charming hotel. Because Wat Gate used to have a strong Chinese community, as many traders would trade off the Ping River which flowed south from the area, and also because of the owner’s Chinese heritage, this hotel has been designed with Old China in mind.  The location, apart from being historic as well as vibrant due to the multi ethnic and religious communities living together in harmony, is also a great launching pad from which to explore the city. Within a five minutes’ walk across the bridge, guests can stroll around in the Chiang Mai’s most renowned markets, Warorot Market and Night Bazaar. Not only that, there are also numerous café and restaurants that are within throwing distance — Monsoon Tea, Woo Café and The Gallery. There also are spas, galleries, bars, temples, churches, landmarks and many more great attractions and venues to visit.

In spite of being right in the old business district of Chiang Mai, the hotel itself affords the ultimate serenity within the premises with a green garden to relax in, far from the maddening crowds. Rooms are spacious and airy with high ceilings and at least 32 sq m area, decorated with warm light and earth tone décor. The restaurant is focusing on western food with complimentary breakfasts for the all guests starting from 7 to 10am. CHU Hotel is now working on a souvenir café which will be offering handcrafts from ethnic people, scheduled to be opened by the end of the year. A 30% discount for direct booking is available now until the end of October.
