If you weren’t on Nimmanhaemin on October the 9th, then you missed our spectacular Wine Crawl, where 160 of you came along for an evening of wines, games, and good fun. Here are three new venues which hosted the crawl this year and which you really must check out.
Rise Bar
Perfect for a date! Or just a drink with friends, or alone…if you must. Akyra Manor House’s sexy Rise Bar on its rooftop is simply spectacular. You can, if you dare (though you know water magnifies by 25%!) go for a dip in the glass-sided pool, or simply sit back on the scrumptious lounge sofas and watch the sun set beyond Doi Suthep. The drinks are delicious, whether a glass of wine from their well curated list or any of a handful of signature cocktails or menu classics. And there are decent priced bar snacks and other dishes to be had. Perfect not only for the sunset, but late-night star (or eyes) gazing.

The Duke’s Maya
The Duke’s is everywhere these days! And each branch seems to be as popular as the next. It is the consistent standard of foods, the generous portions, the reasonable prices, solid service and the casual setting which combine to make this formula a success. Now, for the first time, those of us living on the west end of town have our very own Duke’s, set on the 4th floor of Maya. Most of you who have been here longer than a few months probably have your own favourite Duke’s dishes, but if you don’t, then here are ours: warm spinach salad with loads of bacon, massive crab cakes, gargantuan pizzas of all denominations, succulent rows of ribs, oh and leave room for their spectacular cheesecakes, ooooh and a chocolate chip cookie the size of your head to take home.

Italasia
Wine is our juice du jour. And wine lovers have a great new hang on Nimman with Italasia. Wines, mainly from Italy, but with a very good selection from other old and new world countries are available for you to peruse and sample. There are also many specialty drinks imported from all over, perfect additions to your home bar. This beautifully designed shop also has a bar counter indoors as well as comfortable veranda seatings outside for you to sit down and pop open a bottle or two.
A handful of small dishes such as a cheese plate are offered to be a perfect accompaniment to your nectar. Being wine importers and suppliers, you will find some very decently priced bottles here.
