The Vorra Bistro
Chiang Mai old town branch

This new bistro on Rachamankha Road in the heart of the old city moat is the latest offering from The Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel, an award-winning hotel and restuarant on the Ping River. This elegant bistro, decorated in masculine dark hard wood with bright light shining in through its many glass panes is a great spot for a casual lunch or a more formal dinner. Lanna aesthetics juxtapose with contemporary quality furnishings, a great setting to sit back and delve into Lanna, Thai or Italian cuisine. Start off with the laab salmon which uses firm salmon chunks marinated in the best of Isaan herbs and spices and then try the green curry fried rice rolls which feature traditional Thai flavours but served in a Japanese seaweed roll, with accroutements. The rich tom yum kung soup and hung-le curry are both popular dishes, though if you need a break from Thai food try their basil penne topped with huge scollops or any of the great wood fired pizzas, from smoked salmon to parma ham.
