Change at the American Consulate

 |  February 24, 2009

The American consulate has made changes to its American Citizen Services section in an effort to make various consular services less time consuming.

It’s now possible to make an appointment for all non-emergency services, including passport services, notarials, and reports of birth. Until March 31st 2009 the walk-in service will be available but after this date all non-emergency services will have to be made by appointment.

Appointments can easily be made by logging onto www.chiangmai.usconsulate.gov/service.html and then click on appointments. It couldn’t be more straight forward. For those with no internet access you can use a kiosk at the consulate where there is free internet. And for those who can not get to a computer, or use a computer, call this number 053 107777.

When you arrive at the consulate after making a prior appointment please do not take a waiting number, but fill out the document you need (do not sign) and then proceed to window 1.

Effective March 31st, Consular American Citizen service hours are: 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 3.30 p.m. and Fridays 1 pm. – 3.30 p.m.
