Beach Life

 |  July 27, 2012

Nothing screams summer like a beach holiday…(Well, we are officially in the monsoon season, but it is summer somewhere in the world, and it certainly is on the islands.)

For us mountain-bound bouquetins, a trip to the azure seas of the south is an especially precious treat, and with direct flights to both Phuket and Samui from Chiang Mai, you can now have white sand between your toes quicker than it takes to drive to ‘The Beach’ in Chiang Rai.

Bangkok Airways now offers direct flights to its postcard-perfect airport on Samui. A short ferry or hovercraft ride from Samui will also take you to the chilled beaches of Koh Phangan – unless you go during the full or the black moon, when it is as chilled as a blender full of ice going at warped speed – and to Koh Tao and its triplet-islet sister, Koh Nang Yuan. Diving, snorkelling, sun bathing, parties, deckchairs on the beach, fine dining, pretty cocktails, hot bodies in bikinis, sumptuous resorts, fishing, sailing and all the joys of the Gulf of Thailand awaits. Our photographer was invited by Bangkok Airways for a press trip and brought back these lovely images to help fuel our holiday fantasies.
